Monitoring SDG6 on water and sanitation

Inspiring GLAAS workshop with Southern African countries

The UN-Water Global Analysis and Assessment of Sanitation and Drinking-Water (GLAAS), implemented by the World Health Organization (WHO), seeks to provide policy- and decision-makers at all levels with a reliable, easily accessible, comprehensive and global analysis of the investments and enabling environment to make informed decisions for drinking water, sanitation and hygiene.

GLAAS is part of the Integrated Monitoring Initiative for SDG 6, supporting countries monitoring global indicators 6.a.1 on international cooperation and 6.b.1 on stakeholder participation.

To support Southern African countries in their work with the GLAAS 2016 country service and to introduce SDG 6 monitoring, IRC and WHO convened a workshop for GLAAS government focal points in October 2016 – learn more about the workshop on IRC’s website.
